Week 8 Review

I am so bad at procrastinating I think that is why I use the grace period so much. This weeks announcement I liked was todays (Sunday) since it talked about what you changed. It reminded me I need to make a schedule and actually do my work on time, because it is really stressful like you said. Honestly I do not read the announcements because I do not remember to do them, but seeing the email today reminded me. Theres just so much to read for this class adding announcements to that reading is just not something I care to do.

Famous Last Words: Week 8

Let me just say I really needed this week. I am not sure why, but it is really really hard for me to keep up with this class. I spend a lot of time on this class each week since I do pretty much every assignment on the day it is due. Being able to get all the work done at the beginning of the week without making my head hurt too much was SO nice! This next half of the semester I am going to try and look at it differently. What I could do better to make it easier is spend more time when picking stories to read. Also doing extra credit will help me finish the class early, so I can focus on all of my other classes. It will help me a lot buy doing that, because I have a TON of big projects for other classes due in December. This week I liked reading about how other people felt about the class so far. It made me feel like I was not the only one on some of the things I was thinking about it. All in all this was a good week for school, work, and home life. We have had some visitors this week so I was grateful for the review week! Things are going smoothly for me at work since I finally know what I am doing after being there for a month. When I first started my job I was a little scatter brained so I missed a pretty important quiz in one of my classes. It put me pretty far behind, but finally today I finally reached an A even with a zero for a quiz so that was pretty exciting. My goal this semester is all As, because it is very achievable I just have to put forth the effort

Reflections: Looking Forward Week 8

So far I think I am doing good with points in this class. I am on track to receive and A. With regards to finishing early I would like to say that is something I could do I just do not see it happening. I have so many other things due in classes it is hard for me to try and do a bunch of work for just one class. Also reading that much makes my brain hurt so I do not think it is worth it for me. If I can just finish the class with an A I will be happy. Who knows maybe the closer I get to the end the more I will work to get it over with.

Writing: I am hoping this second half of the semester my writing gets better. For some reason I just do not have the creative juices that some people have and that is fine it just takes me a little longer to write a mediocre story while it takes other a few minutes and they write a great story.

Reading: The next half I am hoping to find more readings that I enjoy so its not as hard for me to follow along. I will put more time into looking for stories to read so I do not have to spend more time thinking about them once I have read them.

Interactions: I think I have read almost everyones introductions so the next half will be reading a lot more stories. Im excited to read the more stories since they will be from my classmates and their stories tend to be easier to follow.

Time: I said at the beginning of the semester that I was going to stay ahead of the schedule with this class but i did not. This next half I am really going to try to do that, but I am guilty of being one of those people who do things at the last minute. When I wait till the last minute I get in the I have to get it done mode and I know I HAVE to finish it.

Location: I might change up where I do my homework since our roommate just got back from deployment there is usually always someone at the house and I can't focus. I am thinking of going to the library, and maybe if I do that I can get more work done that what I normal do in a period of time because I won't have nay distractions.

Growth Mindset: I probably won't do these extra credit assignments unless I just have too, because I do not have the time to do them.

Curation: As I read more stories I plan to mark all of the ones I like so it is easy to find the page when I want to.

Reflections: Looking Back Week 8

Writing: My favorite story that I have wrote myself was one I have done recently called An Old Hound Dog. I added it to my portfolio since I liked it so much. I do not really have a theme to my portfolio, but I just like reading random stories. I feel like when I read a bunch of stories that are the same I am reading the same stories over and over again. The storybooks I have read from other people have been really cool.

Reading: I haven't really had any favorite stories that I have read. I do like reading stories that are shorter and easier to read, because it is easier for me to comprehend them. My other favorite things within stories is when they have a moral to the story some of them are funny and I like to read them. I have also learned that I cannot focus on my reading when there is people around.

Interactions: I love online classes! I learn so much more in online classes since I am doing all the work myself. The introductions in this class helped me learn who people were. Getting to read new introductions every week was different for me, and helped me know who everyone was.

Time: Lets just say I have done horrible with sticking to a schedule in this class. I have used the grace period a little too much. With vacations and people visiting I have fallen behind a lot. This second half of the semester I am hoping to stay ahead of the schedule.

Location: I do all of my work at home in the living room when there is no one at home.

Growth Mindset: I have not done any of the growth mindset

Curation: I have not done any curation post in this class. I do keep a good track of blogs that I have been to and that I like.
