Extra Reading Diary: Lang's European Fairy Tales II

Stories within Lang's European Fairy Tales II

Half-Chick:
This story was different, when I first started reading I thought the chick was going to conquer all. Instead the opposite happened, the chick being full of himself even though he was different from all the others still ended up in a bad place because of his selfishness. Why didn't the chick want to help the others, he probably knew what it felt like to need help. Some people just only think of their selves.

Clever Maria:
Whattttttt? I am so confused I did not understand this story at all. Why was the father gone so long? Why could the girls not go out? How in the world did the king and Maria fall in love. I must have missed something within this story cause it made no sense to me at all. I must not be as clever as Maria was.

Blue Beard:
This story was interesting to me, I thought of the blue beard as the beast. I am not sure what the story was trying to tell. Why did he kill all the wives? Why did this one get to live? Was he really trying to tempt all these women into opening the closet?

Toads and Diamonds:
I liked this story because the good sister won. She did what was right and in the end got whats he actually deserved, she got away from her mother and her sister was still just as rude as before. Good things happen to good people.

Seven-Headed Serpent:
When reading I thought to myself well if the serpent eats that many people, then there will be no more for him to eat. I am used to there being morals to stories and in this lesson, I barely found any. Many they were just stories they didn't really have any meaning, thats the only thing I can think of. Or maybe I just can't wrap my head around it.
