What I find interesting in the UnTextbook

The Monkey King Sun Wu Kung:

I love to read about anything that I have never heard of before, and the Monkey King is something I have never heard of. Another thing that caught my attention would be the word monkey, I love monkeys so anything to do with them is something I am interested in. What drew me into it when reading about it was the very first part of this unit being about his "miraculous" birth and how he later rebelled. Anyone who is going to rebel against what is the norm is interesting to me, and I look forward to finding out more about it.

Through the Looking-Glass:

Alice in Wonderland has always been one of my favorite novels that were turned into a movie. This unit is the sequel to Alice in Wonderland and I believe it has a lot of things I never even knew about. I see Alice in Wonderland as an adventure, and this unit will just add to that adventure for me. All of the characters that are involved, excite me and there is so much to learn from it.

Adam and Eve:

This unit interested me because I like the thought of Adam and Even, but I do not know much about the two. I am not familiar with the bible at all, and only know hear say about the two. Comparing what I know to what is told in many different stories is what I want to be able to do when reading this unit. It will be a good way for me to familiarize myself with something so many know and talk about.

Arabian Nights:

Aladdin is the first thing that came to mind when I read the title of the unit, and sure enough there will be a story about him in there. I remember watching the movie when I was younger, and would love to some how make a connection with the stories that are out there about it. Reading things I find interesting will keep the class interesting to me, and will also teach me more.

Nursery Rhymes:

I chose this because I have heard many nursery rhymes over my life, and want to know more. They are all interesting in their own ways. I like that I will be able to read so many of them because they are so short in length.

A wall full of books

I chose this picture because whenever I think of the UnTextbook, I think of a bunch of books just lined up along the wall floor to ceiling. I like the idea of the UnTextbook because there are so many options all in one place.
